Why does the summer blockbuster season start in the begining of May when really summer starts in June?
Q. I am asking this simply becuase every year the ''summer'' blockbuster movie season starts off in May but why each season has three months right? so shouldn't the ''summer movie blockbuster season start in June?

A. My guess is the same reason as to why the Christmas decorations and adverts start in november. So that the season runs longer so we can spend more money.

How much does it cost to rent a videogame from blockbuster?
Q. I looked on blockbuster's website and they don't mention anything about renting videogames. I want to rent mario super sluggers, how much do you think it cost to rent it. This game came out at the end of August, so it's pretty new.

A. well, it first depends on what you are getting it for: x-box, gameboy, d.s., game cube, wii, or ps2 or ps3. shouldn't be more than $10, but since you say its new it could be more since it is possibly on higher demand than say, a video game thats been out longer. i hope this helps you!!!

A. Hello. I work at blockbuster. You get Five free movies and/or games a week and a 20% discount. Sometimes around holidays and employee appreciation month the discount is changed to 25-30%. You also are entitled to 12-15% off your Sprint Nextel phone bill because of a partnership they have with Blockbuster.You also may get discounts at nearby businesses that have partnerships or just out of kindness. At my store we enjoy 50% off at Papa John's Pizza, 15% off at wingzone, free refills at Circle K, and the occassional free movie theater ticket. At one location I worked at we also had 50% off at the next door Taco Bell/ Pizza Hut. Hope you enjoy work!

Can my blockbuster membership be used at more then one blockbuster around my town?
Q. I want to rent a movie heaps badly and my blockbuster down the road doesn't have it. Where I live the policies are around 19.99 or 24.99 depending on if you want the games when they come out and you walk in and rent them, or the extra $5 to get them to hold a copy, but when the game comes out you gotta get to the store because out of a possible 15 games they might have of the new popular game, they only hold 5 copies ... :)

A. I've gotten plenty, lol. But I worked there for two years. Employees get first dibs, but if you ask an employee about a specific display they will generally get your number and call you when it comes down. Be warned though, they take FOREVER to come down sometimes. And always call to check back on it, they frequently lose numbers and forget.

How are stores like Blockbuster still in business?
Q. At my local Blockbuster, it costs like $6+ dollars to rent a movie for like 5 days. How does a store like this stay in business when going to the movies is only $2 more, and actually buying the movie that you can keep forever is only like $15. I would rather spend the extra $9 and keep the movie forever.

A. I am surprised that the rentals are that expensive. I think that DVD prices have dropped, so they get more copies of the movie and can rent them out longer and/or lower prices. I think people being used to the status quo is why people rent videos. Blockbuster is competing with Netflix on blockbuster.com, so they have some prospects for future income. It does seem that it will be a very tough business(movie rentals) to make money in the future.

A. for some reason those cards just dont work like they should to activate it we have to sell it to sell it you have to scan the only barcode thats on the darn thing so theyve done all they can. that does not mean u lose out get ur receipt call them immediately and tell them. they will refund u or get u a diff card if they dont call the customer service number right away cuz they are suppose to do one or the other

A. They don't sell them at the Blockbuster near me either. Its probably because they just don't sell anymore since the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and the DS came out and that's what games are selling. The Blockbuster near me don't even sell PSP games.Thats what i think anyway :D

How do you work rented wii games from Blockbuster?

A. I know you'll find this hard to believe, but only about 15% of the "average" citizens are computer literate enough to download, share, or pirate files on their computers. Most people are lucky if they can open and read their e-mail. They say too for every house that has a computer there are still 2 households that do not have one. That leaves a lot of folks who still need Blockbuster to be in business. The Blockbuster near my house stays packed all the time. Go figure!

A. Don't return the wrong disk. If you want to keep it, just tell the customer service people and they will happily sell it to you. You will be charged the "previously played" price (ask first, so you aren't surprised), which can be as high as $54 for a brand new game, or as low as $9.99 for an older one. If you let them know, they will even give you the original case and instruction book. You could also just keep the game and not tell them, which will automatically charge your debit or credit card the same price. You can find the price of the game on your receipt where it says "Own it after xx/xx/08 for $xx.xx" If, however, you decide to put the wrong game in the case, you will receive phone calls up to three times a week reminding you… [cont.]

A. as long as you have a card on file you SHOULD be able to rent up to four games, some store managers are stupid and try to allow only 2 but all bbv systems are set up for a customer to be able to rent 4 games out at a time.
