It is a broader term than "art", which as a description of a field usually means only the visual arts (comprising fine art, decorative art, architecture, and crafts). Art is a simulation of feelings, expressions, and ideas, which is used as a tool to provoke, inspire, and create those feelings, expresions, and ideas in an audience. The arts encompasses visual arts, literature, the performing arts, including music, drama, film, dance, related media, and by some definitions, other areas such as fashion. Go to www.smartpages.com and look up martial arts instruction in you city and state. It will tell you what martial arts are taught in your area and where the schools are located. 3. Once you know what martial arts are offered in your area look up their definitions on the net. Note the similarities and differences between each. A good place to do that is www.wikipedia.com. 4. Q. I am a 5'4.. 105 pound girl. I am extremely interested in learning some form of martial arts. However, I am a bit clueless on the different styles. I was wondering if anyone who is more experienced in the different styles could help me figure out the best style for me. I am looking for a powerful more offensive fighting style. I am personally not to big on throws. The more punches and kicks the better. With my small size I believe my quickness may help whichever fighting style I choose. Also to add to this. I am asking those who know alot about martial arts to begin with. Please don't tell me to look into martial arts for myself and please don't give me dumb responses. Just those who'd like to give me their opinion on what fighting style… [cont.] Asked by Sara - Wed Apr 16 17:08:48 2008 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Since you have emphasized on your stature and quickness, you might want to take a look at the art of Jeet Kune Do. With his philosophy and knowledge of fighting and adapting to different… [cont.] Answered by DimHalo - Wed Apr 16 17:44:26 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Arts" |
